The Amador Business Ticker is one year old today. If you’re a longtime reader or you’ve just started reading, thank you for reading. I’m grateful.

This is a one-man operation, though my mother comments about food when we try a new restaurant to review. I’ve learned a lot about the county and its businesses, and I’m looking forward to learning more because there are some questions I haven’t answered yet.

I don’t comment here often except to talk about new features of the website. I think the feature stories and reviews should take center stage.

Editor Eric ButowI may comment more as the site develops, but I want to concentrate more on adding more features to the site. For example, I’d like to introduce a “People on the Move” type feature that focuses on people starting new jobs and businesses as well as promoted employees. I’d also like to have a focused area on county and city governments.

For now, there are no flashy announcements. I’m still working on the foundation of the site, as I should. That means getting advertisers and continuing to find interesting stories to tell you about.

I hope you like it. If you want to see something in the Ticker that isn’t here now, please e-mail me and let me know. And constructive criticism is always welcome.

Thanks again for reading and for following us on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. I’m looking forward to sharing more stories with you.

To prosperous times ahead,
Eric Butow
